Fellow CPAUG member – Don Uvick – has an photography exhibit at the witf Media Center! Details as follows:
Experience the views of New York City at the exhibit entitled; “Return to Manhattan.”The witf Meda Center will be displaying the work of Don Uvick’s Manhattan photographs from August 8th through October 13th at 4801 Lindle Road in Harrisburg, PA.
A free wine and cheese reception will be held on Thursday, August 11th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm and is open to the public.
“Return to Manhattan” is the second in a special series of work exploring New York City.It is a part of a personal project called the “The Five Boroughs Project”. This project is a compendium of images of the five boroughs; Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queen sand Staten Island.
Over the years, Mr. Uvick has put together a portfolio which captures his special views of the city. This exhibition overlaps the previous 2008 “First Stop Manhattan” exhibit by incorporating new images of this city that never sleeps. Images contained in this exhibit will cover the time frame of 2001 to 2011 including some taken a few months after 9/11.Since this project is a work in progress, a few samples of future boroughs; Brooklyn and Queens will be blended into the exhibition.
Don Uvick has been active in the arts for over 25 years. As a photographer he strives to provide a variation in subject matter, which is pleasing to both the casual observer and those with a trained artistic eye. His work has been exhibited in many one person and joint shows throughout Pennsylvania including the 2011 State Museum’s “Art of the State”, theSusquehanna Art Museum, the Harrisburg Area Community College in Gettysburg and the Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery. He has served as an officer for various art organizations including the Harrisburg Camera Club and the Art Center School and Galleries.
