Harrisburg area hackathon coming soon – CapitalHack (Not a CPAUG event)

CapitalHack is a day to bring ideas into reality. Calling all brilliant developers, entrepreneurs, designers and community activists: Capital Hack 13 is a Harrisburg, PA-based initiative to find clever solutions to practical problems in the city using technology to connect, activate, and motivate the community. This 12-hour event is open to single participants or small teams of up to three.

When & Where: Saturday, August 24 2013, 10am – 10pm at St@rtup in Midtown Harrisburg: 1519 North 3rd Street, Harrisburg PA. The all-day format will provide complimentary food and beverage service. Wristbands will be required for all participants to gain entry to and from the event.

Why: Harrisburg is brimming with potential and needs to leverage technology to solve some of the opportunities/challenges we face in living here.

How: CapitalHack is a 12hr Hackathon on Saturday, August 24. What is a Hackathon? It is a day where designer, developers, entrepreneurs and creatives work collaboratively to discovery solutions to problems.

What: Teams will organize in the morning and by the evening you will build a working prototype, a series of designs, or a business model. There is a $500 prize for the winning project to keep your team making progress.

You will create something spectacular by the end of the day with the help of incredible people in an amazing city.
